As part of the “Parallel Cinema” series, prepared in parallel with the Agosto Foundation, a screening of Milos Šejn's films will be screened at Ponrepo cinema on 3 February at 18:00. The screening will be personally presented by the author with the evening's dramaturge Martin Blažíček.
Miloš Šejn's film work is one of the undiscovered chapters of the Czech film experiment. His artistic career is devoted primarily to the landscape and its experience using a wide range of media. He began working with film for the first time in 1970 and after several experiments and film experiments he realized seven key works between 1977 and 1986. These can be considered in our context as a unique type of film vision, focusing on the landscape experience, which defines both the theme and a number of specific formal procedures. His films are characterized by subjective camera guidance. His work is connected with a wave of transcendent film experiments of the 1970s, but they also testify to the intimate coexistence of man with the surrounding ecosystem.
